Course overview
Sherwood Hills is the most un-Nicklaus Nicklaus course that we've seen. Built on natural flowing land, the layout is often described as an inland links because of the hard running fairways and open-fronted greens. There aren't many links courses that require carries over ravines like Sherwood does. It's safe to say that Nicklaus has eschewed his typical style of wide fairways, big green protected by even bigger bunkers. The landing areas, although generous, have to be found from the tee. The nasty cogon grass that flanks the fairway is almost impenetrable and vegetation filled ravines come into play on many of the holes as well. The greens, while not out-rageously contoured, are generally small and guarded by the good use of sand. Soft spikes required.

Location guide
Take South Expressway and exit Carmona Interchange. Upon reaching Governor's Drive, just go straight passing Aguinaldo Highway, you will see signs along Governor's Drive.
Please confirm the route and location before travelling.
Clubhouse, tee houses, pro shop, male/female lockers and showers are available. Main veranda and bar for dining purposes. There is also a practice facility, chipping and putting green beside the driving range.
Private club. Guest(s) must be accompanied by members. Reservations can be done through telephone 3 days in advance. Closed on Mondays.
Along Governor's Drive, Trece Martirez City. About 1.5 hours from Makati City. Can pass through Coastal Road or South Superhighway.
Manila Southwoods Manor, Puerto Azul Hotel or hotels in Tagaytay City. Since it is relatively near Metro Manila, driving to and from Makati and Pasay City hotels would take 1.5 to 2 hours only.
